Whitney Port Reacts to Exciting Maxim Hot 100 Honor

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley may be Maxim‘s number 1 hot chick, but one of Celebuzz’s very own bloggers (two actually, yay Kim!) came it at number 63 on Maxim’s annual Hot 100 list: Whitney Port.

“Having done a Maxim spread recently, this is a really big honor for me since I was so nervous to step outside my comfort zone for that particular shoot,” Whitney blogs.

“While it was definitely something new and different than what I had done in the past, I definitely hope to work with them again in the future. Thanks, Maxim!”

» Whitney Port: ‘I’m too young to marry’

Whitney Port has insisted that she has no plans to marry in the near future.

The reality star – who has been dating The Buried Life star Ben Nemtin since 2010 – told In Touch that the couple are enjoying their relationship and are not currently concerned with making such a large commitment.

“There have been rumours in the past, but we’re pretty young, so we’re not really thinking about that right now,” she said.

When asked what she feels is the key to success in their relationship, she responded: “Just keeping the lines of communication open and feeling really comfortable talking to each other about anything.”

» Whitney Port: “No More Shows About My Personal Life”

This month, the search for the next great American boyfriend begins with Genuine Ken, a Hulu-only reality series hosted by Whitney Port of The Hills, The City, and eponymous-fashion-line fame.

To promote the show and premiere the first episode, the lovely—and yes, Barbie-esque—Whitney Port welcomed a small group to the penthouse at the Soho House in L.A. on Tuesday for cocktails and a peek at the Genuine Ken contestants themselves. (Seven of the eight Kens were in attendance; the eighth was at a cheerleading competition. More on that later.)

When VF Daily asked Whitney how hosting compares with starring in her past shows, she told us, “I don’t think I want to do a show again based on my personal life. So if I could do something like this, where I can still show some personality without having the spotlight on me, that would be great!”

It’s unclear what was most entertaining in the first episode of Genuine Ken—the first competition talent show, the Kens and their healthy egos, or Whitney Port’s reactions to them.

Each week, the Kens compete on everything from interior design to cooking to, you guessed it, cheerleading. Sometimes they write poems (one contestant’s is creatively called “Love”); sometimes they sing songs. Could real Ken do all those things?

» Whitney Port Was “Literally Melting” While Shooting Her New TV Show

The TV-star-turned-fashion-designer is hosting Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend, a programme designed to find a man who is like famous male doll Ken, Barbie’s boyfriend. Whitney was thrilled to land the role, and has been enjoying filming the series.

“While filming my new show Genuine Ken, we shot at a number of different locations, one of which was the rooftop of Kress nightclub,” she wrote on her blog. “It’s a beautiful location that overlooks Hollywood, but that particular day it happened to be 90 degrees so we were all literally melting!”

Whitney posted a series of behind-the-scenes pictures on her blog, which detail her getting ready for shooting. The star is seen in a floral dress with a plunging neckline having her hair tended to while she reads paperwork.

Stylists decided on a messy ponytail look, with Whitney’s blonde strands cascading out in curls.

Another shot shows one of the outfits the star will change into, a hot pink top with ripped-sleeve detailing and tiny shorts.

» Whitney To Host Perfect Boyfriend Search

Whitney Port is hosting a dreamy new competition – the former “The Hills” star is leading the search for the perfect boyfriend most like a Ken doll.

Port has signed on to host new reality series “Genuine Ken: The Search for the Great American Boyfriend,” which aims to find a man who embodies all the qualities of Barbie’s man.

The show is being produced as part of Mattel’s 50th anniversary of the Ken doll next year, reports Variety.com.

Stephanie Cota, senior Vice President of Mattel Girls brands, explains, “He’s getting a makeover to make sure he’s still as culturally and visually relevant as Barbie is. He’s getting a little work done to get ready for his 50th anniversary.

“With a 50-year history, you have people who have been embracing (Barbie and Ken) from day one. The series is a great way for us… to have grown-up girls and boys stay connected to the brand.”
